Label Me Love
Labels are not for me.
But if you must label me—
Label me human,
For I was born human.
I was not born knowing I was Indian or American,
rich or poor,
Christian or Buddhist,
smart or stupid,
pretty or ugly,
perfect or imperfect.
These were identities, beliefs, roles, and judgments
I gathered along the way.
With labels come separation,
And separation stirs up hatred.
So labels are not for me.
But if you must label me—
Label me Love,
Because I see you in me,
And myself in you.
